Race for Monroe Mayor gets nasty

Dirty campaign tactics plagued the race for Monroe Mayor. A flyer started circulating around the city with one candidate wearing a photo-shopped KKK hood. Neither of the two top candidates admitted any blame.

Neighbors react to "Mr. Wonder" capture

Frank Selas, or Mr. Wonder, was wanted for sexually assaulting children on camping trips in Louisiana during the 1970s. After 37 years on the run, U.S. Marshals found him living in a Bonita, California nieghborhood. I traveled to California for his identity hearing and to speak with neighbors about their reaction to his arrest.

Following Monroe Firefighter Recruits

During the summer of 2015 I followed twenty two recruits to the Monroe Fire Department during their training program. Officers put the recruits through a military style training program where they learned what it took to become a firefighter in Monroe.

Case dropped against school board member

Daryll Berry has been on the Monroe City School Board for over a year, but after a complaint was filed that he had a prior felony conviction, his future on the board was in the hands of a judge. After the court was dismissed I got breaking news from the assitant distict attorney that the next morning the state would be dropping the case based on a state supreme court decision that came down earlier that same day.
